As Telangana’s chief minister, Revanth Reddy just took the oath. He introduced a Rs 5 lakh accidental insurance plan for gig workers in the state, such as food delivery boys, cab drivers, and autorickshaw drivers, on December 23, 2023. This plan offers financial benefits to all gig workers as insurance against work-related accidents. Gig Workers Insurance Scheme 2024
CM Reddy introduced this gig worker scheme at their program in Hyderabad. He gave the workers his word that new regulations would be formulated at the upcoming Vidhansabha meeting and that our administration would continue to work on the Rajasthan Workers Policy. They announced that the Telangana Gig Workers Insurance Scheme would soon provide accidental insurance coverage worth Rs 5 lakh for all gig workers, including those who operate their auto rickshaws, and taxis, or work for online food delivery firms like Swiggy and Zomato. In addition, all customers of this accidental insurance policy in Aarogyasri Telangana will be able to register and receive medical treatment up to Rs 10 Lakh a year. They will also develop a smartphone application for the scheme, which T-Hub is already working on.

Objective
All gig workers risk their lives while working endless hours, such as food delivery guys, cab drivers, and autorickshaw drivers. The state government of Telangana assured them that the program would offer accidental insurance because of this. He also instructed authorities to identify common problems faced by gig workers and utilize government resources to assist them.
Benefits
