In order to provide quality medical facilities to residents of Assam, the chief minister of Assam Mr Himanta Biswa Sarma has launched a healthcare scheme i.e. Ayushman Asom Scheme. The objective of this scheme is to provide financial protection to the citizens of Assam against high healthcare expenses. Under this scheme, the residents can get cashless medical treatment upto Rs 5 Lakhs per family. Approx 2.6 million families which be benefited from this scheme.
You can apply for the scheme with an Aadhaar card, which will be available in over 300 hospitals. So it is mandatory to have an aadhar card if you want to avail the benefits of this scheme. Under this Ayushman Asom, the beneficiaries will be able to get treatment in more than 300 empaneled hospitals in Assam as well as in all AB-PMJAY empaneled hospitals across the country. The scheme will cover the cost of treatment for all types of diseases.
