How To Apply For PRAN Card?

You can apply for PRAN Card online as well as offline. To apply for a PRAN (Permanent Retirement Account Number) card in India, individuals need to follow the below steps:

Apply For PRAN Card Offline

  • First of all, visit your nearest Point of Presence (POP) under the National Pension System, which is generally your bank. PoPs have permission to carry out a variety of NPS-related operations such as receiving deposits, forwarding applications for NPS account transfer, partial withdrawal applications, nomination change applications, and so on.
  • Now you must complete Annexure S1 of the NPS Application Form, which is the PRAN card application form. The following is included in the application form:
    • Applicant’s details
    • Applicant’s employment details
    • Applicant’s nomination details
    • Details of the scheme
    • Declaration made by the subscriber to the PRFDA (Pension Regulatory Fund and Development Authority)
    • The applicant must deliver the completed PRAN application form to the appropriate official.

Apply For PRAN CARD Online 

You can complete the entire account opening process online at the NSDL or Karvy website. Through the online portal, you can apply for PRAN either through your Aadhaar card or your PAN card.

Apply For PRAN Using An Aadhar Card

  • NPS KYC can be completed using Aadhaar OTP (One-Time Password) authentication.
  • Aadhaar OTP is sent to the registered mobile number.
  • Your data like demographic details and photos will be automatically retrieved and filled from the Aadhaar database.
  • Now fill in the rest left the details online.
  • Upload your scanned signature( image should be in *.jpeg/*.jpg format with a file size between 4kb – 12kb).
  • You may upload a scanned photograph if you want to update the aadhar image.
  • Now you have to pay application fees, you can pay it through Credit card or Internet Banking.

Apply For PRAN Using PAN Card

  • For KYC verification for customer registration through eNPS, you must have a bank account with the listed bank.
  • Your KYC verification will be done by the bank selected by you during the registration process.
  • PAN Details should match the bank records for KYC verification.
  • You have to fill up all the mandatory details online.
  • Upload your scanned photograph and signature.
  • Now you have to pay application fees, you can pay it through Credit card or Internet Banking.

NRI PRAN Card Application Process

NRI subscribers should follow the following steps while applying for a PRAN Card:

  • Select the Bank Account Status, either Non-Repatriable or Repatriable.
  • Provide the NRE/NRO bank account information and a scanned copy of your passport.
  • Choose your chosen communication address: Overseas Address (communication at an overseas address will incur additional charges) or a Permanent Address in India.

How To Download PRAN Card?

  • First of all, visit the subscriber NPS page using direct login at cra-nsdl.com/CRA/
  • Enter your 12-digit PRAN number as user ID in the first column
  • Enter your password with the Captcha code
  • Select the View option from Menu
  • Click on ePRAN
  • Now you can download the respective PRAN Card load in New Page
