Eligibility Criteria of WBMDFC Scholarship
According to the WBMDFC, the eligibility criteria for all types of scholarships are different. Students have to apply for scholarships based on their level of education.
Pre-matric Scholarship/ Post-matric Scholarship
- Applicant must be a permanent resident of West Bengal.
- Applicants should study in an academic board/council/school/institute recognized by the state / central government university.
- Applicants studying in institutes outside West Bengal those student will not be eligible for the pre-matric.
- Applicant must score more than 50%, no less than or equivalent.
- Annual family income should not exceed Rs 2 lakh.
Merit Cum Means Scholarships
- Applicant must be a permanent resident of West Bengal.
- Applicant should get at least 50% marks in Higher Secondary / Graduation Examination.
- Applicants residing in West Bengal but studying in institutions listed with the WBMDFC, but based outside West Bengal are also eligible.
- Annual family income should not exceed Rs 2.5 lakh
What is the Selection Process For the Scholarship?
There are 2 categories of students to receive the West Bengal MDFC Scholarship:-
- Candidates Applying for the First Time
- Candidates Applying for the Renewal Scholarship
- New Candidates-: The candidate will be subject to budgetary allocation provided by the state government and Only one in a family will be considered eligible on the basis of merit.
- Renewal Scholarship-: The Corporation will consider only those students who have secured 50% marks in their previous examination.

- On the homepage, you have to click on the list of Registered Institutions.
- Now select the district of your institution.
- It will ask you to confirm your selection, click OK
- After clicking ok Again select the district of your institution.
- Click submit, the registered institution list will be in front of you.
How to Apply for New Registration?
- First of all, visit the Official Website of the MDFC Scholarship.
- A homepage will open in front of you
- After that, you have to click on the New Registration.
- Now select the district of your institute.
- Now a new page will open in front of you which will be the application form.
- Now you have to fill in your asked personal information on that page. like-:

- Now your temporary user ID will be generated
- Check your email or inbox because your password must have been sent there.
- Now you have to log in with your user ID and password on the student login window.
- Now enter the details mentioned below on the page which will open:

- If you want to take extra security or precautions, you can change the password (it is mandatory) and click submit
- After filling all this recheck all the details by clicking the Pre-View tab
- Click on Submit
- Take a printout of the application form and keep it with you.
- Now submit a photocopy of your bank passbook containing the bank account number and IFS code along with the application form to the concerned institution.
How to Renew Your MDFC Scholarships
Follow the steps below to renew your scholarship-:
- First, go to the official website of WBMDFC
- Click on the Renewal Application
- Now you have to select your district and then click OK on the dialog box.
- Now you have to log in by entering your application ID date of birth and captcha code.
- After this, an OTP will come on your registered mobile number, you have to enter that OTP and submit it.
- Now you will see two options, first Renew Application and Second Withdraw Application in which you have to click on Renew Application.
- Now you have to fill in the information asked in the registration form.
- Now you have to click on submit and next.
- After this, you have to fill in the previous and current academic information.
- Now you have to click on submit and next.
- Now according to your bank passbook, you have to verify your bank information like bank and branch name, bank account number and name in a bank account, IFS code.
- Now you have to click on submit and next.
- Upload the required documents along with the form (your institution verification certificate).
- Submit your application form by clicking on Submit and Next.
- Now click on the review and double-check the information before submitting the form.
- Now click on submit and lock renewal application.
- Now a popup will be displayed on your computer screen asking if the details are correct. If they are, click on OK.
- Now click on Print Renewal Application and get a printout of your application for further assistance.
