Recently for the unemployed youth of the ingenious community, the Tripura government has started the Puno Baniya Scheme. Tripura Puno Baniya Scheme
- On 15th July 2022, the government of Tripura implemented the Tripura Puno Baniya Scheme to promote animal husbandry and to create employment in the state.
- Under this scheme, the state government will provide financial assistance to the unemployed youth of the indigenous community for goat farming.
- The financial assistance will be directly transferred into the beneficiary account.
- Under this scheme, Gramin Bank will grant the loan to the beneficiary.
- To generate more income for the tribal people, a credit-linked goat scheme is implemented where the members of the self-help group will get Rs 2,51,000 for a unit.
- An amount of Rs 25,100 will have to be paid by the beneficiary for each unit, while the state government will give a share of Rs 1,04,000 and the remaining Rs 1,25,500 will be credited to their accounts as loans.
- Once the beneficiaries start earning from the business, they can repay the loan through EMI of the income in 9 months with no installment payments.

Objective Of Tripura Puno Baniya Scheme
The objective of the Pano Baniya Scheme is as follow:
- To reduce the unemployment rate in the state.
- To provide a way of employment to the unemployed youth of the indigenous community.
- To provide a source of income to the unemployed youth which will lift their living standard.
The Intention Of The Government Behind Only Promoting Goat Farming
- The state government has especially promoted goat rearing as goats are immune to various diseases and there is less chance of any heavy damage in business.
- The maintenance of food for goat farming is also less compared to other poultry and pig farming.
- High return in the small period.
- The excreta of the goods can also be used as fodder in the fisheries department.
Key Points And Benefits Of Tripura Puno Baniya Scheme
