Punjab Mera Ghar Mera Naam Scheme is started by the chief minister of Punjab Mr. Charanjit Singh Channi. The main motive for the launching of this scheme is to grant property rights to people residing in houses located within the Lal Dora of villages and cities. Lal Dora is a village or town settlement consisting of a group of houses where residents live, the people who reside in that place do not have property rights so under this scheme the Punjab government will grant them ownership rights. People who have been living in the old area for a long time will also be covered under this scheme.
Under this scheme, the Punjab government will cover 12700 villages. The Revenue Department will conduct drone surveys in rural and urban areas for digital mapping of the area. The entire process of granting property rights will be completed within 2 months

Maximum people who reside in Lal Dora does not have property right so under this scheme the state government of Punjab will grant them proper rights. The Punjab government will provide them with property cards which will be proof of their ownership.
