The scheme is been inaugurated by the Government of Uttar Pradesh. There are many families in our country which are financially weak and due to this economic weakness, they are unable to pay the electricity bill. So keeping this in mind the Uttar Pradesh government has launched the Uttar Pradesh Easy Installment Scheme or UP Asan Kist Yojana.

UP Asan Kist Yojana 2023
Uttar Pradesh Asan Kist Yojana has been inaugurated by Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath Ji. Under this scheme, all those people of UP who are not able to pay the electricity bill due to poor economic conditions, then they can deposit the outstanding electricity bill in installments. With the help of this scheme, the outstanding bill will be paid in 12 installments for urban consumers and the outstanding bill will be paid in 24 installments for rural consumers.
At least five lakh consumers will get benefits under this scheme.

Uttar Pradesh Asan Kist Yojana New Update
The connection of those consumers who have not deposited the outstanding installments after getting their registration under this scheme will be cut. According to the department, 3035 consumers had registered for this scheme in the division area town and 14050 in rural areas, after which the department had deposited the arrears of these outstanding consumers in installments, but some consumers deposited these monthly installments. Considering this has not been done, the department is preparing to start a campaign for connection with the recovery from the defaulting consumers.
Objectives
The main objectives of Uttar Pradesh Asan Kist Yojana are as follows:-
- Those who are unable to collect electricity bills due to financial constraints for those consumers of all domestic urban and rural areas will be provided the facility to pay bills in easy installments.
Benefits
Benefits availed under this scheme are as follows:-
- Under Uttar Pradesh Asan Kist Yojana, all domestic urban and rural consumers will be provided the facility to pay the bill in installments.
- Under this scheme, consumers can pay the current bill with 5% of the amount or a minimum of Rs. 1500.
12 installments will be made for consumers in urban areas or 24 installments for consumers in rural areas.
The monthly installment will be at least 1500 rupees. - If the consumers have deposited the entire installment on time, then the head charge will be basically waived.
If a consumer has not paid the installment and current bill for two months, his registration will be canceled.
Important Points
Some of the important points that need to be remembered are as follows:-
- This installment cannot be deposited at the counter. It has to be online.
- If the consumer deposits all installments and bills on time, then his interest will be forgiven.
- Along with the installment, consumers will also have to pay the electricity bill.
- If a person is unable to submit the previous month’s bill for some reason, then he/she will have to submit the previous month’s bill in the next month.
- 1500 rupees will have to be paid at the time of registration under this scheme.
Eligibility Criteria
Applicant needs to pass the following eligibility criteria in order to enroll themselves:-
- The person should be a permanent resident of Uttar Pradesh.
- The benefit of this scheme will be given only to domestic 4-kilowatt connections.
- Interest will be waived only if the consumer has paid all installments and bills on time.

For Urban Consumers
- Firstly you have to go to the official website of Uttar Pradesh Power Corporation Limited.
- A homepage will open in front of you on which you have to go to the Bill Payment section and click on the Registration for Easy Installment Scheme Urban.
- Now you have to click on the login link.
- Now you have to click on the link of Register Now and create your user name and password.
- Then the registration form will open in front of you.
- Fill in all the asked information such as account number, service connection number, mobile number, etc., and click on the register button.
- In this way, you will get registered in Uttar Pradesh Asan Kist Yojana.
For Rural Consumers
- Firstly you have to go to the official website of Uttar Pradesh Power Corporation Limited.
- A homepage will open in front of you on which you will have to go to the Bill Payment section and click on Registration for Easy Installment Scheme Rural.
- Now you have to click on the login link.
- After this, you will have to click on the link of Register Now and create your user name and password.
- Then the registration form will open in front of you.
- Fill in all the asked information such as account number, service connection number, mobile number, etc, and click on the register button.
- In this way, you will get registered in Uttar Pradesh Asan Kist Yojana.
