The Kerala government has announced the launch of the Kerala Patent Assistance Programme, which aims to encourage entrepreneurship and innovation in the state by covering the expenses paid by startups and students in obtaining national and international patents for their innovations. The action is a part of Kerala’s larger plan to foster an innovative and creative problem-solving culture. Utilizing the excellent resources and support provided by the State, the program will cover all patent applications filed through registered patent attorneys after November 9, 2015, with the goal of promoting innovation and entrepreneurship.

  • If they fulfill the conditions, student entrepreneurs can apply directly through their IEDCs for patent financing.
  • Within ten years of its incorporation, the new firm must register in Kerala and must have a Udyog Aadhar number in addition to a DIPP.
  • Financial assistance will only be available to students who are actively pursuing their academic objectives.
