There are several documents you need to submit while applying for an Indian passport. There are different documents you need to submit while applying for a fresh, minor, diplomatic passport or re-issue of a passport, which we have explained in detail below.

Documents For A Fresh Passport

• Address Proof
  1. Water bill.
  2. Aadhaar card.
  3. Electricity Bill.
  4. Voter Id.
  5. Rent agreement.
  6. Income Tax Assessment Order.
  7. Spouse’s passport copy (First and last page of the passport that includes the details of the family and mentions the applicant’s name as the spouse of the passport holder).
  8. Photo Passbook of running a bank account in any public sector bank, private sector bank, and regional rural bank.

  1. PAN Card.

Documents Required for Minors for a Fresh Passport

• Age Proof
  1. Birth certificate.
  2. Aadhaar Card.
  3. School or University 10th Class Mark Card
  4. Policy Bonds issued by Public Life Insurance
  5. School Leaving Certificate / Secondary School Leaving Certificate.
  6. The declaration was given by the head of the orphanage/childcare home.
• Present Address Proof
  1. Water bill.
  2. Aadhaar card.
  3. Electricity Bill.
  4. Rent agreement.
  5. Election Photo ID card.
  6. Landline or Postpaid mobile bill.
  7. Photocopy of a bank account.
  8. If the parent possesses a passport, the original and self-attested copies should be carried.
  9. Proof of present address in the name of parents.

Documents Required for Re-issue of Passport

• Old passport
• Self-attested photocopy of:
  1. The first two and last two pages
  2. ECR/Non-ECR page
  3. Page of validity extension (if any).
  4. Page of observation (if any) made by Passport Issuing Authority.
  5. No Objection Certificate (NOC)/Prior Intimation Letter (PI).
• Due to Renewal of Short Validity Passport (SVP):
  1. Mandatory documents along with proof of documents eliminate the reason for the issue of SVP.
• In case of Passport is lost/stolen/damaged beyond recognition:
  1. Age Proof.
  2. Present address proof.
  3. Police report in original
  4. Affidavit stating how and where the passport got lost/stolen/damaged.
  5. No Objection Certificate / Prior Intimation Letter.
• In case damaged passport with the passport number readable, the name legible, and the photo intact:

• A document that eliminates the reason for the issue of a Short Validity Passport (SVP).
• Declaration confirming the particulars of the minor mentioned in the application form.
• Passport of the parents with the new name mentioned in the original, as well as a self-attested photocopy of the first and last two pages, the ECR/Non-ECR page, the page of observation, and the page extending the validity of the document.

• • Upload the document asked in the application form.

• • Now, verify all the details again and click on Submit.

• • Now, book your slot at your convenience.

• • Proceed with the required payment online or offline.

• Finally, click on Print Application Receipt and keep it safe for future reference.
