Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh State YS Jagan Mohan Reddy started the Jagananna Chedodu Scheme on Wednesday 10th June 2020. Under this scheme, the government of Andhra Pradesh will transfer Rs. 10,000 to the account of each beneficiary. The financial assistance will be directly transferred to the beneficiary’s bank account.
The state government has issued an amount of Rs. 247.04 crores for about 2.47 Lakh beneficiaries. Under this scheme amount will transfer to the bank account of 82,347 Rajakas, 38,767 Nayee Brahmins, and 1.25 lakh tailors. Not only this, but the government has also decided to give the benefit of this scheme to the barbers running the shop.

Andhra CM disburses Jagananna Chedodu scheme funds, to 2.85 lakh citizens to get Rs 10,000 each
Jagananna Chedodu Scheme Second Tranche 2022
On 8 February 2022, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy launched the second edition of the installment of the Jagannath Chedodu scheme. This fund has been transferred through the virtual launch being held at the Tadepalli camp office. Through this installment, an amount of Rs 285.35 crore has been deposited in the accounts of 22,85,350 citizens of Rajkas, Nai Brahmins, and tailor people of all communities.
Under this scheme, a lump sum amount of Rs 10000 will be provided to the beneficiaries. Beneficiaries can use this fund to purchase tools, equipment, and other essential items. This scheme will meet their investment needs to increase their source of income and work establishment.
CM YS Jagan Mohan Reddy Transferred Rs 330.15 crore under Jagananna Chedodu Scheme 2023
On Monday, January 30, 2023, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy released Rs 330.15 crore to provide financial assistance to over 3.30 lakh eligible recipients of Rajak, Nai Brahmin, and other communities under the Jagannath Chedodu program. Every household in BC, SC, and ST has benefited from the welfare policies of the YSRCP government by making them more financially secure.
The amount will be credited to the bank accounts of the recipients immediately. The government is working to implement the scheme without allowing favoritism or corruption, as well as without allowing discrimination on the basis of caste, religion, community, or party affiliation.
Rs 583.78 Crores Transferred Till Now Under Jagananna Chedodu Scheme
So far Andhra Pradesh government has disbursed Rs 583.78 crore under this scheme. This scheme has been launched to provide money to tailors, washermen, barbers, etc. who have lost their livelihood due to COVID-19. The funds to be provided under this scheme will be transferred to the bank account of the beneficiaries through Direct Benefit Transfer.
Beneficiaries will be identified and shortlisted through a survey. A list of eligible applicants will be presented to village and ward secretaries and from this list, beneficiaries will be selected after the social audit.

The benefits of the scheme are as follows:-
- Financial assistance of Rs 10,000 will be provided to the beneficiaries.
- Through this, they can buy modern equipment for their work as it’s the only source of income for them.
Incentive under Jagananna Chedodu Scheme
Financial assistance of Rs 10000/- per year to the new Brahmins, Laundrymen, and Tailors will be directly transferred to their bank account. Applicants can check their accounts to know about the money transfer.
Eligibility Criteria For Jagananna Chedodu Scheme
The applicant needs to pass the following criteria to enroll themselves in the scheme:-
- The applicant must be a permanent resident of Andhra Pradesh state.
- The applicant’s age should be less than 60 years.
- An applicant must be a tailor, or hairdresser with their own shops, or laundryman who belong to Backward Class (BC), Extremely Backward Classes (EBC) category, and Kapu Community.
