On 7th September 2020, the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh  Mr. Jagan Mohan Reddy has started YSR Sampoorna Poshana Plus Scheme. The state government has launched this scheme with the objective of reducing mortality, morbidity, and malnutrition and improving the health and nutrition of pregnant and lactating mothers and children in the age group of 0-6 years. Under this scheme, the state government will provide healthy, nutritious food through the mode of cooked meals and take-home rations to the beneficiary.

This scheme will be implemented in 77 ancestral circles of the state. Anganwadi workers will survey the Anganwadi Center (AWC)  within their area for enrollment of beneficiaries. Around 3 lakh beneficiaries will be covered under this scheme.

The objectives of the YSR Sampoorna Poshana Plus Scheme:

  • To reduce the mortality rate, morbidity, malnutrition, and school dropout among children.
  • To improve the health and nutrition of pregnant and lactating mothers and of children in the age group of 0-6 years.
  • To provide nutritious food to pregnant and lactating women.

  • On 7th September 2020, the government of Andhra Pradesh has started YSR Sampoorna Poshana Plus Scheme.

    2. In 2ndweek- Groundnut chikki 500 gram.
    3. In the 3rd week- Ragi flour or wheat flour 500 grams and jaggery 500 grams.
    4. In the 4th week- Til laddu.

Eligibility Criteria 

To apply for YSR Sampoorna Poshana Plus Scheme, the applicant has to fulfill the following eligibility criteria.

  • The applicant should be a resident of Andhra Pradesh.
  • Only pregnant women and lactating mothers in the state can get the benefits of this scheme.
  • The applicant must belong to a lower-income group or economically backward category.
  • Infants between 6 to 72 months old will get the benefit under the scheme.

How To Apply For YSR Sampoorna Poshana Plus Scheme?

  • Firstly, Anganwadi workers will survey the Anganwadi Center (AWC) catchment area for enrollment of beneficiaries.
  • Under this scheme, all children of the group aged of 6 months to 6 years, pregnant women, and lactating mothers will be registered in the AP Sampoorna Poshan Plus scheme.
  • Applicant details will be registered in Common Application Software (CAS) to monitor service delivery.
  • Every month growth monitoring (height and weight) of every child will be done at the Anganwadi center.
  • The AWW/Supervisor will furnish the list of SUM/SAM/MAM children to ASHA/ ANM/ MO (PHC).
  • The weight of pregnant women will be monitored every month at the Anganwadi center.
  • Pregnant women and lactating mothers will be educated about protein diets and energy-based take-home rations without distribution among family members.
