To benefit the junior practicing lawyers and advocates, the government of Andhra Pradesh has launched YSR Law Nestham Scheme. Under this scheme, financial assistance of Rs 5000 pm will be provided to the beneficiary. In December 2019, the chief minister of Andhra Pradesh Mr. Jagan Mohan Reddy has introduced YSR Law Nestham Scheme. Under this scheme, the state government will provide a financial security of Rs 5000 pm to the junior practicing advocates and lawyers. The name of the advocate should be entered in the roll of advocates maintained by the Andhra Pradesh State Bar Council under section 17 of the Advocates Act 1961 and Law graduates who have passed in the year 2016 are eligible for this scheme.

A beneficiary list will be prepared and all the lawyers whose names will be there in this beneficiary list will be eligible to take advantage of this scheme. The scheme will be re-opened every three months i.e. March, June, September, and December so that the candidates can apply afresh.

The objectives of the  YSR Law Nestham Yojana are:

  • To provide financial security of Rs 5000 pm to the junior practicing lawyers.
  • To improve the financial condition of state lawyers.
  • With the implementation of the YSR Law Nestham scheme, lawyers will become self-dependent.

Key Points & Benefits Of YSR Law Nestham Scheme

  • On the occasion of National Lawyers Day, In December 2019 the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh YS Jagan Mohan Reddy has launched the YSR Law Nestham scheme.
  • Under this scheme, all junior advocates and lawyers will be provided a stipend of Rs.5000 per month which will help them to bear their expenses.
  • The scheme will be re-opened every three months i.e. March, June, September, and December so that the candidates can apply afresh.
  • All junior practicing advocates who have not completed the first three years are eligible for this stipend. The first three years of practice will be counted from the date of issue of the Certificate of Enrollment under Section 22 of the Advocates Act 1961.
  • This scheme is going to improve the economic condition of the lawyers and the lawyers will become self-reliant.

The eligibility criteria for YSR Law Nestham Yojana are as follows:

  • The applicant should be a permanent resident of Andhra Pradesh.
  • The applicant must have a bachelor’s degree in law.
  • The name of the advocate should be entered in the roll of advocates maintained by the Andhra Pradesh State Bar Council under section 17 of the Advocates Act 1961.
  • Law graduates who have passed in the year 2016 and onwards are eligible to take advantage of this scheme.
  • The applicant’s age should be less than 35 years.
  • The advocate should have to submit an undertaking that if he leaves the practice or becomes gainfully employed, he will inform the online or registering authority.
  • After enrollment with a State Bar Association, advocates are required to obtain a practicing certificate within two years by passing the Bar Examination conducted by the Bar Council of India.
  • Junior advocates have to submit an affidavit attested by the senior advocate having 15 years of practice or by the presiding officer of the court or state bar association stating that they are still in active practice every 6 months.
  • All junior practicing advocates who have not completed the first three years are eligible for this stipend. The first three years of practice will be counted from the date of issue of the Certificate of Enrollment under Section 22 of the Advocates Act 1961.

Ineligible Beneficiary 

  • Advocates who have completed the first 3 years of practice are not eligible.
  • Advocates with a four-wheeler in their name are not eligible to benefit from this scheme.
  • Non-Practicing Advocates are not eligible for this scheme.

  • Aadhar card.
  • Law degree certificate.
  • Proof of date of birth.
  • Secondary school certificate.

  • Now registration form will open on your screen.
