Tamil Nadu Free Laptop Scheme Apply Online: Tamil Nadu Free Laptop Distribution scheme is announced by the Tamil Nadu government. Aim of Tamil Nadu Free Laptop Scheme 2022

The aim of the Free Laptop Scheme 2022 is to promote information technology in our young students of a financially backward class so that they grow more in this technical world. The Tamil Nadu Free Laptop Yojana is to enhance technical interests in the young minds of our country.

The Tamil Nadu Free Laptop Scheme budget outlay for the program is 5 crore. The Tamil Nadu government will distribute laptops free of cost to nearly 5 lakh students in 2020-21 at a budget allocation of  949 crores. Under the free laptop distribution scheme, a total of 51.67 lakh laptops have so far been distributed to students at a total cost of 7,258 crores from 2011-12 to 2019-2020 (up to February 2020), says a Policy Note of the Special Programme Implementation Department, which monitors the implementation of various schemes/programs of the State government.

Eligibility criteria for Tamil Nadu Free Laptop Scheme 

• The candidate must be a native of Tamil Nadu.
• The applicant should have recently passed class 10th and 12th standard examination from a government or aided reputed school.
• Preference will be given to the Scheduled Caste(SC) and Scheduled Tribe(ST) applicants.
