Samagra Gramya Unnayan Yojana is a state government-funded scheme, started by the government of Assam. The aim is to double the income of farmers in the state and to grow the agricultural sector in the state. Samagra Gramya Unnayan Yojana

In the financial year 2016-17, the Samagra Gramya Unnayan Yojana was started by the state government of Assam. Under this scheme, the state government will provide tractors at subsidized rates in each revenue village. With the implementation of this scheme, the income of the farmers of the state will be doubled, and the agricultural activities in Assam state will grow.

Under this scheme, the government will provide a subsidy of 70% on the price of the tractor and a group of 8-10 farmers are eligible to apply for this scheme, single farmers or a group of 3-4 farmers are not eligible to apply for this scheme. Applicants have to pay 10% of the cost of the tractor and they can get the rest 20% as a loan from the banks.

Key Points & Benefits Of Samagra Gramya Unnayan Yojana

• The Samagra Gramya Unnayan Yojana was launched by the government of Assam in the Financial Year(FY) 2016-17.
• A group of 8 to 10 farmers of Assam is eligible for SMSGUY.
• Under this scheme, a subsidy of 70% will be provided by the state government on the total cost of the tractor unit up to a maximum of 5.5 lakhs.
• The group will provide tractors to the farmers on a rental basis.
• A group should have a common bank account.
• On completion of the hypothecation period, the bank branch will directly transfer the subsidy amount to the account of the beneficiary farmers.
• By using modern machinery like tractors it will be easier for agriculture.

Allocation Of Subsidy

Under SMSGUY the state government of Assam will provide a maximum subsidy of 70% on the purchase price of the tractor unit including equipment to the selected groups subject to a maximum of Rs. 5.5 lakhs.

Choice Of Applicant Group And Duration Of Service

• All applicant groups who have already applied for the Tractor Unit need to submit their choice as follows:
  1. Whether the applicant wants to avail of bank finance for beneficiary shares or not.
  2. Name of the brand and model from the list notified by the state government.
  3. Names of the implements out of the 5 (five) implements mentioned above.
• A subsidy of 70% will be provided by the state government on the total cost of the tractor unit up to a maximum of 5.5 lakhs.
• The group of farmers being farmers of the village will be responsible for providing tractor units on a rental basis.
• The minimum tenure of rent will be 5 years at a reasonable rate which will be decided by the District Level Committee.

Selection Of Applicant Group Under Samagra Gramya Unnayan Yojana

• The applications received from farmer groups to the DAO will be sent to the necessary DLC for submission.
• Beneficiary groups that have already been selected by the DLC do not need to be re-elected.
• Member Secretary will be responsible for notifying the selected group names.

Eligibility Criteria

The eligibility criteria for Samagra Gramya Unnayan Yojana (SMSGUY) are as follows:

• A Group of 8 to 10 farmers of the same village can apply for the CMSGUY.
• A group should have a joint bank account and apply the details of the land and crops cultivated jointly with the signature of each member on the application form.
• There should not be more than one member of the same family in the farmer applicant group.
