Odisha Inter Caste Marriage Scheme

Inter-caste marriage has been gradually gaining acceptance due to increasing education as nowadays educated young boys and girls are increasingly choosing their life partner on their own. The scheme is basically launched to encourage inter-caste marriage. Under this scheme, the Chief Minister of Odisha will give an incentive amount of rupees 1.5 lakh to the inter-caste marriage couple. Previously, the amount was rupees 1,00,000. The Chief Minister also said those inter-caste marriages are the backbone of bringing social harmony in society.

Objective Of Odisha Inter Caste Marriage Scheme

Objectives of the scheme are as follows:-

• The main objectives are to provide a financial incentive of Rs 1.5 lakh to the couple to enable them to settle down in the initial phase of their married life.
• This will also abolish untouchability and will reduce caste prejudices.
• With the help of this scheme values like Liberty, equality in society will establish.

Documents Required

The following documents are required for enrollment:-

• Scanned photo copy of the registered marriage certificate.
• The Scanned joint photo of the couple( husband & wife ).
• Scanned photo copy of Declaration form duly signed: ANNEXURE II & ANNEXURE-IV.
• Scanned photocopy of the joint bank passbook of the couple.
• Scanned photo copy of caste certificate of both spouses stating there in the community and the sub-caste to which they belong.

Criteria for Registration

The applicant needs to pass the following eligibility criteria:-

• Inter-caste marriages solemnized between the caste Hindus and the Scheduled Castes belonging to the Hindu community. The marriage should be valid as per the law and duly registered under the Hindu Marriage Act, 1955.
• Both the spouses should be citizens of India permanent residents of Odisha and should be professing the Hindu religion.
• One of the spouses should belong to the scheduled castes as defined under Article 341 of the Constitution of India.
• The incentive is provided for the purchase of lands/essential things for households or for starting a business.
• The grant shall give only once i.e. persons marrying for the first time only will be entitled to the grant except in the case, where the bride is a widow or the bride-groom a widower and this should be clearly mentioned in the marriage registration certificate.
• No incentive is available on second or subsequent marriage.

• Firstly, go to the official website of the Odisha Inter Caste Marriage Scheme.
• Now click on the option Register here.
• The registration form will display on your screen.
• Enter your details like your name, password, phone number, address, block, district, city, and all of the other details.

• And enter the captcha code and click on Register.

Applicant’s Login Procedure

• You must first go to the official website.
• Now when the home page opens, you will have to go to the login section.
• After this, you have to select the category of the applicant.
• Now you have to fill in your mobile number and OTP.
• After that, you have to click on login.
• Now you can log in to the portal easily
