Kukka Subramanya Temple is nestled among hills and is well-known for the ancient Kukke Subramanya temple, which has been around for about 5000 years. The temple sits close to the Kumaradhara River. According to legends, the divine serpent Vasuki and other snakes sought protection under Lord Subrahmanya in the caves here.
People worship Lord Subrahmanyam in the form of a snake, and they pray to him along with the serpent king Vasuki. It is believed to provide relief from naga doshas, which have certain negative effects. A special dance called Nagmandal is also performed here.
