Atal Amrit Abhiyan Health Insurance Scheme
On 25 December 2016, the Atal Amrit Abhiyan Yojana is started by the government of Assam. The government of Assam has started this scheme for the APL and BPL families of the state. Under this scheme, the state government will provide free and cashless medical treatment to the beneficiaries of insurance of Rs 2 lakh. To avail of the benefit of this scheme, the beneficiary has to pay a nominal premium of Rs 100.
A total of 437 diseases are covered under this scheme, the annual income of the beneficiary of APL families should be less than Rs 1.2 lakh and the annual income of the beneficiary of BPL families should be less than Rs 5 lakh. The state and state government employees or retired personnel are not eligible for this scheme.
The beneficiary can go for the treatment only in government-aided and CGHS empaneled hospitals in the state. All the beneficiaries can avail cashless treatment in Government and listed private hospitals inside and outside the state.

The main objective of the Atal Amrit Abhiyan Health Insurance Scheme is to provide free and cashless medical treatment to the BPL and APL families of Assam. The insurance plan covers various diseases like cancer, heart disease, cancer, kidney disease, neonatal disease, brain, and cardiac diseases, and burn injuries.

Eligibility Criteria
The eligibility criteria for Atal Amrit Abhiyan are as follow:
- The applicant must be a resident of Assam.
- The person must have a ration card issued by the Government of Assam under the National Food Security Act.
- The APL and BPL families are eligible for this scheme.
- The annual income of the beneficiary of APL families should be less than Rs 1.2 lakh and the annual income of the beneficiary of BPL families should be less than Rs 5 lakh.
- All the employees employed or retired in the service of the Central and State Government will not be eligible for this scheme.

- EPIC Card (in case of minors the birth certificate is original).
