Assam Legislative Assembly Elections

  • The current Assam Legislative Assembly’s term is expiring on 31 May 2021 and voting will be completed in Assam by 6 April 2021. The Election Commission of India has announced the schedule for Assam Legislative Assembly Elections 2021. This schedule was released at a press conference held by the Chief Election Commission of India Mr. Sunil Arora.
  • He said that Assam has 126 member assembly seats and elections are going to be held in 3 phases on these seats which will start on 27 March 2021 and continue till 6 April 2021. The results will be announced on 2 May 2021. Of these, 126 assembly seats, 8 seats are reserved for Scheduled Caste candidates and 16 seats are reserved for Scheduled Tribe candidates.
  • There has been an increase of 34.71% in polling stations in Assam this year as compared to the previous elections. There are currently 33530 polling stations in Assam. Due to the coronavirus epidemic, voting will be allowed for one hour.

Assam Voter List Released For Assembly Polls

Assam, the last voter list -2021 was published. Assembly elections are due in the state this year. According to the roll, there are two crores 29 lakh, 92 thousand 505 voters in the state. While there is one crore 16 lakh 56 thousand 926 male voters, the number of female voters is one crore 13 lakh 35 thousand 579.

The state has recorded an increase of 2.6 percent in voters as compared to the final photo electoral roll 2020.

The Chief Electoral Officer, Assam has requested all citizens to participate in the Special Summary Amendment Exercise-2021.

The state now has 2,24,39,522 voters. Among them, white male voters are 1,14,25,748, while female voters are 1,10,13,774. While the maximum number of 20,64,678 voters is in the age group of 20 to 29 with 30,89,856 males and 29,74,822 females, the minimum number of 1,17,051 voters is in the 18 age group with 59,185 male voters. And there are 47,866 female voters.

  • There are about 876 booths including 144 subsidiary booths in the Dhubri district. There are 95300 voters in Dhubri LAC, 2,04,778 in Gauripur LAC, and 2,02,398 in Golakganj LAC.
  • There are a total of 6,919 suspected voters in the three LACs. Dhubri has 2,155 suspected voters, Gauripur has 2344 suspected voters, and Golakganj has 2460 suspected voters.
  • The number of service voters in the three LACs is 902. Dhubri district has five assembly seats, 23 in Dhubri, 24 in Gauripur, 25 in Golakganj, 26 in Bilaspur West, and 27 in Bilaspur East.

Whatever the citizens of Assam have failed to upload their passport-size photographs for a voter ID card within the stipulated time. Now the citizens of Assam can provide their photos for the voter list of Assam through WhatsApp. For all those people, the District Election Officer of Kamrup has provided a WhatsApp number. Through this number, citizens can provide their photos and avoid the cancellation of names.

This WhatsApp number can be collected from the District Election Office. The number provided for the Kamrup district is 7577001889. All 4 constituencies of Kamrup can submit their photos through this number. At the time of submission, citizens are required to provide their name, address, and EPIC number.
