- If the registration of marriage is done within 3 months they have to visit the tahsildar office.
- If the registration of marriage is done within a period of 6 months they can go to the SDM (Sub-District Magistrate) office
- They can go to the office of the Deputy Commissioner to register the marriage within one year of the marriage.
- If the registration of marriage is done after one year the couple has to seek permission and order from the
- Chief Registrar, Interior Department Secretary for marriage registration.
Eligibility Criteria
The eligibility criteria for the Punjab Marriage Certificate are as follows:
- At the time of marriage, the age of the groom should be at least 21 years or above and the bride must be at least 18 years of age or above
