Jagananna Vasathi Deevena Scheme 2023

Jagananna Vasathi Deevena Scheme is started by the CM of Andhra Pradesh Mr. Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy. Under this scheme, scholarships will be provided to the meritorious students who come below the poverty line. There are lots of students who want to pursue higher education but have to leave due to financial conditions. To encourage and provide a better life and quality education AP Government has started this scheme. Under this scheme, the state government will provide for the hostel and mess charges of BPL students.

Implementation Of YSR Vasathi Deevena (JVD) Scheme

The Jagananna Vasathi Deevena scheme was inauguration ceremony was held on 24 February 2020 in Vizianagaram. A budget of Rs 2300 crore has been finalized for the implementation of this scheme. The financial assistance will be directly transferred into the beneficiary mother account and if the beneficiary mother is not available then the assistance will be transferred into the beneficiary guarding account.

Objectives Of YSR Vasathi Deevena (JVD) Scheme

The main objective of this scheme is to decrease the drop rate of students after high school. There are many meritorious students in the state who have to leave their education after 12th due to financial problems and there are many students who work to pay their college expenses like college fees, hostel fees, etc. Through this scheme government will provide financial assistance to those meritorious students who want to pursue higher education.

Incentives Under Jagananna Vasathi Deevena

The list of benefits provided under the Jagananna Vasathi Deevena Yojana scheme is given below:-

• The government will provide college fess plus hostel fees to those students.
• The government will provide Rs 20000 per year to the students.
• Students studying at the Welfare Hostel will be exempted from the mess charge.
• The fund incentives under this scheme are as follow:

1. 1. For Polytechnic students: Rs 15000.
   2. For ITI Students: Rs 10000.
   3. For Graduate Degree and other courses students: Rs 20000.

Eligibility Criteria for YSR Vasathi Deevena (JVD) Scheme

To apply for Jagananna Vasathi Deevene Yojana, the applicant has to fulfill the following eligibility criteria.

• Students who are pursuing courses like Polytechnic, ITI, Degree are eligible for this scheme.
• Sanctuary workers are exempted from the scheme.
• The students should enroll in private colleges affiliated with State Universities/ Boards and government or government-aided universities.
• The applicant’s family annual income should be less than Rs 2.5 Lakh.
• Government job employees are not eligible for the scheme.
• If anyone from the beneficiary family is getting a pension then he/she will not be eligible for the scheme.
• The beneficiary’s family should not own any four-wheelers.
• Beneficiaries should have agricultural land less than 25 acres / or wetland under 10 acres/acre of land and wetland land and agricultural land of under 25 acres.
