It was launched in Delhi by Union Home Minister and Cooperation Ministry Amit Shah on 18 July 2023. The purpose of this portal is to help more than 10 crore depositors of Sahara Group claim their money back strengthen the cooperative movement and safeguard the interests of the members of the cooperative so that case like the SEBI-Sahara fund does not repeat in the country.

Who will be paid first?
गृह मंत्री अमित शाह जी द्वारा बताया गया की सरकार इस पोर्टल के माध्यम से सबसे पहले 10,000 रुपये या इससे अधिक जमा करने वाले 1 करोड़ निवेशकों को पहला भुगतान करेगी। गृह मंत्री अमित शाह ने बताया की सरकार के पास चारों सोसायटियों के माध्यम से निवेशकों का पूरा डेटा ऑनलाइन उपलब्ध है। जिसके माध्यम से आवेदन Sahara Refund Portal पर ऑनलाइन लिए जायेंगे।
Through this Refund Portal, genuine depositors of the Sahara Group of cooperative societies namely- Sahara Credit Cooperative Society Ltd, Saharayan Universal Multipurpose Society Ltd, Humara India Credit Cooperative Society Ltd and Stars Multipurpose Cooperative Society Ltd can claim their stuck money.

Objective Of The Sahara Refund Portal
- The objective of the portal is to strengthen the cooperative movement in the country and protect the interests of the members of cooperatives.
- To return the hard-earned money of depositors which has been stuck since 2010.
Sahara SEBI Refund Account
After the Supreme Court ordered to transfer ₹5,000 crore from the Sahara-SEBI refund account to the Central Registrar of Cooperative Societies (CRCS), now the central government announced to return of ten crore investors’ money within nine months.
Supreme Court Order For Sahara Refund 2023
The Supreme Court has ordered that the ₹5,000 crores will be paid to the depositors from the Sahara-SEBI refund account. The court has also ordered that out of the balance amount in the Sahara-SEBI refund account, ₹5,000 crores be transferred to the Central Registrar of Cooperative Societies (CRCS).

What are the Eligibility Criteria?
- Investors who have invested in the four Sahara Group Co-operative Societies & have outstanding dues receivable before the following dates can file a claim request.
- 22nd March 2022 for:
- Humara India Credit Cooperative Society Limited, Kolkata.

How To Apply For Sahara Refund Money?
Step 1: Register on the Sahara Refund Portal.
- Firstly you have to visit the Offical website of CRCS Sahara Refund Portal
- On the homepage, click on Depositor Registration.
- Now fill in the details like the last 4 digits of your Aadhaar card, and mobile number linked with your Aadhaar.
- Now click on “Get OTP” and enter the OTP received. Click “Verify OTP” to complete the mandatory registration process.
- Finally, now you have completed your registration.
Step 2: Depositor Login
- Firstly you have to visit the Home Page of the CRCS Sahara Refund Portal
- On the homepage, click on “Depositor Login”
- Now fill in the details like the last 4 digits of your Aadhaar Card and the mobile number linked with your Aadhaar
- Click on “Get OTP” and enter the OTP received then click “Verify OTP” to log in.
- After login, you will Aadhar content screen click on “I Agree” and then click on Next.
- Now enter your Aadhar no and click on get top then enter the received OTP and click on verify OTP.
- Now Aadhar card details will be on your screen like your father’s name, first name, middle name, etc.
- You can add an email and then click on Next.
- Now fill in all the details asked in the form like society name, account no, membership no, receipt no, etc.
- Click on the “Add Claim” button and you will see all details in the below grid. Here, you will be able to add multiple claim details.
- After entering the claim details, prepare the prefilled Claim Request Form.
- Affix the latest photograph and duly sign the claim form along with the photo.
- Now upload the claim form and PAN card copy.
- At last, Thank you, a page will display a Claim Request Number. Kindly save the Claim Request Number for future reference.
The application will be verified by the Sahara Group of Cooperative Societies within 30 days of submission. The decision will be communicated through SMS/portal within the next 15 days i.e. within 45 days of filing the online claim.
