For the residents of Kerala, the state government has launched an official website where you can apply for Kerala marriage registration online.

If you apply for registration after 45 days from the date of registration but within one year of your marriage, you will have to pay a fee of Rs. 100, except for providing a Form II certificate. If your application is submitted more than one year from the date of marriage, there is a penalty of Rs 250 will have to be paid along with the application.

Eligibility Criteria

  • A bridegroom must be at least 21 years old, while prospective brides must be at least 18 years old.
  • A bridegroom should not already be married to another woman.
  • Individuals suffering from mental illness and those unable to willingly consent to marriage due to their mental condition are not eligible for marriage solemnization.
  • Marriages can only be solemnized and recognized between individuals of sound mind who are capable of providing consent for the union, even if they are unable to conceive due to their mental condition.

  • Application Form.
  • Copy of the certificate from the auditorium, wedding location, or relevant religious authority where the marriage took place. Alternatively, a Form II declaration regarding marriage solemnization was obtained from an MP, MLA, Gazetted Officer, or Member of Local Self-Government Institution.
  • Form 2, duly certified by a Gazetted officer or elected representatives, or any other proof of solemnization of marriage, as approved by the Local Registrar or Registrar General in case of delayed applications.
  • Memorandum signed by both parties to the marriage along with two witnesses.

  • First of all,l visit the official website of the Sevana i.e. https://cr.lsgkerala.gov.in
  • On the homepage, under the document section you will get Registration of Marriages click on it
  • Now a new page will open on your screen.
  • Click on the Online Form Submission link.
  • Choose the District and local body type, Local body and click on the Submit button.
  • Now the login page will open on your screen.
  • If you are a new user then register with your details, including name, email, mobile number, address, and password. If you have already registered, log in with your username and password.
  • If you have already registered, log in with your username and password.
  • After login, the application form will open on the screen.
  • Fill in all the details asked in the application form such as Communication Details, Marriage details, Local Body Details, Bride and Groom details, Witness Details, etc.
  • Upload photographs of the bride and groom.
  • After completing the application form click on submit.
  • After submission, Form I will be generated for verification. You can edit the form if necessary.
  • Take a printout of Form I and submit it to the concerned local authority, duly signed.
  • The local officer will download the application form, assign an inward number, and verify the details provided. Any necessary corrections will be made.

  • Now enter the captcha code and click on the Search button.
  • Now your marriage certificate is displayed on the screen, simply click the “Download” button to obtain your certificate.
