AP YSR Jala Kala Scheme
The main objective of this scheme is to provide free borewells to farmers for farming. So that it can increase its yield. Many farmers in the state still depend on natural resources for agricultural irrigation. The farmer is unable to use groundwater due to the high cost of planting borewells. In view of this problem, the government is providing borewells free of cost to farmers in the state. The main objective of this scheme is to double the income of farmers in the state The scheme was launched by the Chief Minister of the state on 28 September 2020.
The Chief Minister of the state met farmers from various regions of the state during the 3,648 km padayatra. The farmers told them that due to lack of water sources, irrigation is a major problem for agriculture in their area. In view of all these problems, the state government has started the AP YSR Jala Kala Yojana to get free borewells to farmers. Eligible farmers can apply for this scheme through the Secretariat. All applications of this scheme are examined through hydrological and geophysical reviews.

- A budget of Rs 2,340 crore has been kept by the government for this plan for the next 4 years.

Features of AP YSR Jala Kala Scheme
Following are the features of the AP YSR Jala Kala scheme.
- Under the scheme, free borewells will be provided to farmers in 13 districts of the state. So that the problem of irrigation can be solved, and the income of farmers can be increased.
- Farmers can apply for this scheme both online or offline.
- Applications made for this scheme will be verified by the Village Secretariat and the VRO. After that, the plan will be sent to APD / MPDO.
- This will then be assigned to the drilling contractor, who will survey the groundwater. The survey will be done by a qualified geologist. Which will prepare and hand over the report to the AP / MPDO related to the scheme.
- Priority will be given to small and marginal farmers and SC / ST/women farmers for this scheme.
- Farmers with only 2.5 acres of contagious land are eligible to apply for the construction of borewells for this scheme.
- Farmers who do not have 2.5 acres of land can benefit from this scheme by forming a group.
- All types of information regarding the approval of borewells under this scheme will be provided to the applicant through SMS.
- After the construction of the borewell, the authority will take a digital photograph with the geotag along with the beneficiary.

Eligibility Criteria For AP YSR Jala Kala Scheme
To apply for YSR Jala Kala Yojana, you have to fulfill the following eligibility criteria.
Guidelines have been issued by the government for eligibility for the benefit of this scheme.
- The benefit of this scheme will be provided only to one farmer member of the family.
- Government employees, and retired employees cannot apply for this scheme.
- To apply for AP YSR Kala Kala Yojana, farmers should have two and a half acres of land.
- If they do not have two and a half acres of land, they can also apply as a group.
- A hydrological survey will be carried out to drill the borewell.
- Under this scheme, the quality control department will inspect at least 10% of free borewells.
